Ripsaw Updates/Modifications
End clamp extender knobs - 1994 - The thread size was changed from 1/4-20 to 1/4-28 to improve holding strength. If you have an older mill it would be wise to check the thread of these parts prior to ordering them.
Idler Wheel Tracking - The tracking bolt located on the idler end of the mill, which was a bolt which intersected the tension assembly has been replaced with a modification of the rear idler plate consisting of a 1/4-28 threaded hole along with the addition of a bracket, allen head bolt, washers and locking nuts. Dimension Plate - The tube which is fastened to the dimension plate has been modified with larger, relocated holes and the 1/4-28 threaded rod inserts with spacers have been replaced with 3/8-16 bolts with T Nuts and an aluminum nut for security. This allows for more secure cutting and was implemented after repeated problems with the dimension plate slipping during the milling process. The solution is very effective, however, over-tightening the nuts will cause damage to the dimension tube.See image here
